I would like to use a provider not included in the list shown, what should I do?
Your provider is welcome to connect to this building and offer their services to yourself and others, please send them this page so they can make such arrangements.
What speeds can I get on this RCN system?
Speeds are set by the provider that you signup with, however we typically install 10Gbps, 40Gbps or 100Gbps connections to each RCN enabled building and all speeds are symmetrical (upload and download are the same).
How does this system work and who is RCN?
RCN is a neutral broadband network that has been installed within this building in conjunction with your landlord. It is not linked to any single broadband provider, only the local internet exchange where all providers connect up to each other.
Our concept is simple. A single installation to each premises, then, we provide occupiers with a choice of broadband and other providers to choose from.
If providers around the UK want to offer their services within this building, they can join our network (at the local internet exchange) and make their service available to others within this building and many other buildings at the same time.
RCN (River City Networks) is a network builder that uses a build once strategy, enabling the landlord to have a single connection to each property, a single company to deal with and a single set of legal agreements, while the tenants enjoy a growing list of broadband providers for them to choose from that provides choice and healthy competition.
Who is my service provider and who bills me?
Your service provider is the company that you choose to sign up to. These providers also bill you for the service.
The role of RCN is only to enable the connection into the building that providers can use to provide the service to you. Our contract is with them and the landlord/building owner.
Who do I contact for support?
Please contact the provider that you signed up with if you have support issues as we don’t handle support issues directly. If you are unable to sign up to a provider, please contact your property agent or landlord.
